How To Feel A Little Glamorous When You Are Fat, Frumpy and Poor

I'm enduring one of those periods of my education when I just feel like I have completely let myself go. I work long hours, such that I barely see the light of day. I wear scrubs daily that are the color of dead flesh. I can't fit into much else because I am too tired to get off my fat arse once I finally finish work. I can't afford a good hairdresser...

Ah! But wait! There may be hope for that little quandry! All it takes is a box of hair dye, a bottle of nailpolish, a nice little facial treatment, and a really cool sister to make it all feel better!

Thanks Amy, for the most funnest pampering this Super-frump has had in months!!! And thank you, Jeff, for keeping the testosterone at bay while we indulged a little!
Here's the kind of stuff that was going on downstairs in "Man Land." Nathan and Hayden were more than happy to read books to Caleb about boogers and farts. They are even showing him how to find his boogers. Aren't they sweet?

And now here is a chance to help my awesome sister and her tremendously awesome family...
Many of you know that Amy's son, Caleb, has Ulrich's Muscular Dystrophy. It is a rare type of degenerative disease. They are currently raising money for the MDA to go towards research and support for Ulrich's. Click here if you want to help... Even just a little. Last year, my dental school class raised almost $1000, and they were living off student loans! Maybe you could spare a few bucks, too. And feel free to link to the MDA website! The more, the merrier!

Shana, you're too cute! I absolutely understand everything you said. I haven't had my hair cut in months, let alone colored. I really shouldn't be let out of the house.

And each time fold Bryce's scrubs, I wonder how he can possibly enjoy wearing the same shade of green day in and day out. Good luck! You're gonna make it. And I'm so glad you got a bit of pamper time. You deserve it!

What a great sister!!! I'm in need of a cut and color meself, but also lack the funding. And the sister. Maybe I'll just turn on Moulin Rouge while the dye sets in.

As soon as I saw that picture of the boys I thought, "Isn't that her nephew? This sister is doing all this for her?" What a sweetheart.

p.s. love the background!

Truth is, I was in desperate need of "el cheapo" pampering myself (or would it be "la cheapa"?). Anyway, it sure was fun and we HAVE to do it again, cuz we still have the extra hair dye! Woo-hoo!
Love you tons :oD

Never, when I think of you do I think "fat and frumpy". You are, and always will be, so darn adorable. I love reading your blog... it makes me feel like we are neighbors again! Love, from all the way in Utah...

Thank you, Annette.

I've been trying to convince her of that for 17 years.

Maybe she'll believe somebody else.

Shana, you are beautiful!! and so is Amy.

In the picture where you're pulling the cap off your hair, you look sooo much like Linda! I've never seen it quite so much before. Even with the cap and all, you are so cute! Love you!

Sisters have a way of making every thing all better. You're pretty amazing Shana. You're always beautiful no matter how gross you feel because you have that twinkle that not very many people have. Shine on!
